My Magazine Spread with Ty Burrell is out and here is the dish......on the shoot

ok I got this amazing phone call one day from a cute editor from L.A. who wanted me to call her back for a styling job. I thought I am going to have to fly out again to L.A. but as luck would have it Ty Burrell Lives in Utah, with his cute wife and baby. He also owns a Bar downtown that is totally perfect for all the locals and low key. So I got to style the shoot there in my hometown for the last 10 years called Salt Lake, which I was loving this not traveling to L.A. thing. Just nice to chill out at home. So anyways, moving on from that rant and raving, I was super nervous because this shoot was a bit more challenging, why? Well because I have to have sizes for a man but in a women’s dress and hip and shoulder sizing. Sounds easy but it is not. So I panic just a little bit at the end on the green jacket we were trying to go after for one of the shoots looking like one of Joni Mitchell album covers. She said as  close as you can get the color of the jacket and make sure the roll of the sleeve. Well I could not find a cuff oversized green jacket ANYWHERE!! Finally my cute assistant and I just said well let’s pull as many outfits as possible. So we were totally way over prepared which was helpful. But the best part is at the end of the day, Ty pulled one of the jackets off the rack and had this idea to cuff the sleeve in and roll to a sleeve I did not think could roll, but I brought it because the color of the jacket I was matching was dead on. Anyways the best part is Ty was super clever and figured that one out. I told him “ummm hello you should be the stylist”! He laughed at me and said “No Way”! But I have worked with lots of beautiful talented people, but I was super nervous around him which is weird because I never get nervous really, he was a exception!! This because I am obsessed with Modern Family I don’t get to watch much TV ever, so when I do I really only watch Modern Family and Oprah on my DVR. He was so cool, down to earth, super nice, and just a really great guy to work with. He was way friendly and asked about me and Dawn (she did hair and makeup or I guess I should say wig and make up) about our families and where we lived, he was just super cool. So here is the spread this magazine is amazing you all should get one because has awesome interviews with some amazing talented actors. This was suppose to be funny and fun shoot and this is why he kept himself raw in himself image with his beard ect…..so enjoy but super happy to have my name in print finally love love so excited. Thanks Wendy, Ty, and dawn you all rocked and the photographer was amazing and fun!! Was a small set and that was the best part really mellow no stress.

MId Way To Heaven Did All the Wardrobe ON!! Now out on DVD

Now Out On DVD My First Film I did all the wardrobe on!!

You all must get into this amazing film I got to work on.....I was lucky to meet Curt Dousset the Main Actor on the film in a earlier Microsoft Commercial I got to work on. He was acting on it and he thought I was very good at wardrobe so he told the director Michael Flynn about me and he thought he should summit the screen play to me to read it and see if it would fit with me as a artist in wardrobe. So I read it and I loved it read it in one night! I summited the screen play analysis to him later that next morning telling him about each character and what I thought they should be wearing what colors at what times in the screen play, the type of people I thought we could create through the clothing. So then I waited to see if he liked what I thought and if he agreed with me? Makes you nervous to see if he feels the same way. So he later called me and said he wanted me on bored to join the crew on the film.....I was so excited nervous and overwhelmed at the same time. There was going to be so much prepping and the days would be long through the night. Surely not like commercials but I love to push myself a ton....my hubby gets so annoyed by all this about me but this is what I live for. So I met the best people ever I even got to work with Kirby Hayborne who was a blast. Everyone was so fun and talented. Unlike any LDS movie you have ever seen. It is a must see.....and now available on DVD and stars my Client Michelle Money as well. Great Cast will make you laugh!! Feel good movie.....ohhh and don't forget to check out the fashion of course. Here is the trailer to get a peek....

I love Fashion and I Love Ty Burrell From Modern Family....

Living in Utah is hard for a stylist. One of my BFF Lindsay from Cali in Orange County where I grew up she is now a successful manager in L.A. she always tells me to come home!! Come back and start working there all the time. She has been so great to give me a great client of hers to style Karina Smirnoff from Dancing With the Stars. That was fun but hard to style her from here in Utah. I made the choice to move here for my family to be closer and to raise my kids here. They have so many friends. So Thursday I get a phone call from a L.A. number and it was Wendy from Under The Radar Magazine. This is a music magazine it really is amazing. Their website is www.undertheradarmag.com all should check it out they have super awesome interviews on there. Anyways she asks if I would like to style Ty Burrell from Modern Family on ABC for a photo shoot for her Magazine. Well this being like the only show I ever watch on TV I said YESSS!!! Ohhh and the best part....it's here local in Utah at his bar called Bar X. Yes this is right he lives here in Utah, and just travels back and forth to work in L.A. So I was so happy for once I got to do a big photo shoot here locally in Salt Lake City. I am so happy about this!! Finally L.A. comes to me and I don't need to fly out! So nice. So I can't say much about the shoot except that it will be way big surprise and you will all love.. ..so for now just took some behind the scenes photos and will put up the others when it is published next month. I will say what a cool down to earth guy and was fun to hang out with today!! So enjoy some of the photos I have for now. More to come. I will say thank goodness for General Conference weekend because all I did was sew till 4am in the morning and watch conference. Was super awesome and I will say I loved every talk they each gave. Made me feel like not giving up my dream that I need to share more. .....so get ready...haaaa!

Now I made the shorts to be long enough for length we need and the fun lace printed top can sit on top of your shoulders we adjusted it after the shoot because it kept falling so that was a sample look that we didn't keep. The skirt is light jersey knit super comfy and has a amazing lace in the back in the middle of skirt that runs all the way down to the ground. It hits your feet. Like I said the photos coming one by one so there will be more to show more of all the looks in about a week. I know feeling different comfy and amazing cute in what you wear is so important. so I am trying to make clothes that help and do just that for you. I styled all these looks so look carefully on how I style them and have fun with your looks you are always welcome to ask me questions.

                                              The sample on this top is amazing but we made adjustments to top to make sure stays up on your shoulders. Also the skirt has amazing lace running down the middle back of the skirt that is double so you can't see through.

Ok new blog, so little bit about me, I love estate sells!! Yes it is true..now the smell not so much, but nothing a little cleaning can't take care of love that dry cleaner. So this one is like 5 sizes to big which I love even more, I love that you can belt it with a little skinny and then add a layer with some big necklaces and no one can ever tell. My most fave, my tights, from line Look From London, I carried in my boutique for years is so fun, fresh, and springy that how could I not rock them this semi sunny day finally!! Sunday is the day I get to dress up for 3 hours, sometimes I feel like it, sometimes I do not at all and this is when I pull out the long t shirt dresses plain simple that I can throw on some big earrings and be done ready in 5 mins. This dress is perfect length and my Free People cardi adds something more to a plain .99 cent dress!! Have fun with your outfits try something new this Sunday and send me your pics. My Movie I was lucky enough to do All the Wardrobe on!!

I feel very blessed to be on a commercial set when I met Curt Dousset. He is now starring in Mid Way To Heaven movie just released on the 4th of Feb. I was doing a commercial and apparently made a impression on curt because two weeks later I get a phone call and he just landed a role on this movie and told the director about a wardrobe girl that he must call. That was me. He sent me the script and two days later I called to tell him what I thought and what I saw in the script. Next thing I know I got the job. The biggest challenge was to dress everyone in the whole film Modest. I mean Modest I was getting nothing by them at all. I think this is the best LDS film I have ever scene ever and not just because I did all the wardrobe but because it really will make you laugh and cry and it has been getting rave reviews. Find Your Passion

I think finding out who we are is a everyday journey. I remember growing up in Orange County feeling the fun life of the sun and the beach becoming a huge part of my journey. I know in high school it was about going vintage store shopping and trying to find the oldest pair of 501 Jeans and how to find a sense of art in every piece. I think that you really have to love something to become a part of it in your life. There is a different way of seeing art in fashion. I think I really wanted to do a blog that focuses on the biggest question I get everyday doing styling here in Salt lake City, "How can I dress Modest, but Stylist?" If I had a dime or every time I hear this I would be super Rich....So here I am wanting to share my style but not just mine but other mormon fashion bloggers trends and must haves to prove to everyone around the world and to the young women of the world that you don't have to sacerfice style for modest dressing. In fact I think there is so much more to offer. You can follow me through my styling and my life as a designer of my new modest fashion line.
